EMACIATED HORSES RESCUED
BSO Detectives Investigating
Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies, acting on tips from concerned citizens in Southwest Ranches, confiscated two emaciated horses Monday from an owner who said he could no longer care for them. The horses, which are in poor health, were turned over to Peaceful Ridge Rescue, a non-profit organization that stepped forward to care for them. BSO Special Victims unit detectives are investigating to determine what led to the horses’ condition. The horses were taken from 6331 S.W. 136 Ave., Southwest Ranches. Detectives say the alert residents who phoned in tips about the horses did the right thing, and they encourage anyone who encounters abused or neglected animals to contact law enforcement. Peaceful Ridge Rescue employees named the horses, a thoroughbred mare and a gelding pony, Lucky and Tass.
