Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff's Office robbery detectives need the public’s help with identifying two violent bank robbers who struck over the weekend.
The first suspect entered the Bank of America at 150 East Prospect Road in Oakland Park just before noon on Friday, December 3rd, and posed as a customer waiting his turn in line. However, his accomplice, armed with a semi-automatic handgun, wasted no time letting employees and patrons know he meant business when he fired several shots in the ceiling. The dangerous duo then proceeded to the counter and demanded cash from the tellers. The suspect, wearing a hooded grey sweat shirt, leaned over the counter with his finger on the trigger, pointed his gun at a teller’s head and demanded more money.
Fortunately, no one was physically injured. The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Witnesses said the two unidentified black males escaped in a white, unknown make or model, 4-door vehicle.
Anyone with information on the identities and/or the whereabouts of the suspects is urged to call BSO Robbery Det. Scott Champagne at (954) 321-4270 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS.
MEDIA NOTE: GOOD QUALITY, BLACK AND WHITE SURVEILLANCE VIDEO IS AVAILABLE FOR YOUR REPRODUCTION AT BSO’S MEDIA RELATIONS OFFICE UNTIL 5 P.M. TODAY. ALSO, STILL PHOTOS ARE ATTACHED TO THIS NEWS RELEASE AT WWW.SHERIFF.ORG.
