FIREFIGHTERS GIVE MOTORISTS THE BOOT

OFFICIAL KICKOFF FOR MDA BOOT DRIVE

West Broward Boulevard and Northwest 27 Avenue, Ft. Lauderdale

In keeping with an annual tradition, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 4321 will hit the streets for the popular Muscular Dystrophy Association’s annual fundraiser in front of the BSO Public Safety Building Monday morning.

Joining firefighters for the boot drive kickoff will be Sheriff Scott Israel and Fire Chief Tony Stravino, along with command staff members.

The fill-the-boot campaign will continue through Saturday, April 27 at the above and below listed locations:


State Road 84 & U.S. 1, Ft. Lauderdale

Griffin Road & U.S. 1, Dania Beach

Hillsboro Blvd. & U. S. 1, Deerfield Beach

State Road 7 & West Oakland Park Blvd., Lauderdale Lakes

Pembroke Road, just west of I-95, Pembroke Park

Flamingo & Stirling Roads, Cooper City

Outside Publix, 4567 Weston Rd. (Weston Commons), Weston

Outside Publix, 294 Indian Trace (Weston Lakes Plaza), Weston

Outside Publix, 1601 Promenade Blvd. (Weston Town Center), Weston

Sunrise Blvd & NW 31st Ave., near Ft. Lauderdale

Davie Blvd. & State Road 7, near Ft. Lauderdale

Everglades Holiday Park, 21940 Griffin Rd.

The funds raised provide research, clinic visits, support groups, repair to equipment like wheelchairs and the opportunity for children from 6-17 to attend the MDA summer camp. All the money collected in Broward stays local to help those with neuromuscular diseases.
