Dare2Care/Chalk4Peace

C.W. Thomas Park

800 N.W. 2 St., Dania Beach

BSO school resource deputies and community policing units have engaged students from Collins Middle School and Olsen Middle School in Dania Beach to participate in the Dare2Care/Chalk4Peace event.

The Chalk4Peace is a sidewalk chalk painting festival which happens worldwide every September. It is a way to spread messages of inspiration and visions for a more peaceful community. The idea is to express messages of peace, tolerance and anti-bullying with plain, old sidewalk chalk on sidewalks, driveways and parking lots.

The art project will take place on the C.W. Thomas Park’s basketball courts. Seventy-five children are expected to attend. This powerful and moving event will include several students reading essays about why they think peace is important. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue will be participating.
