WOMAN ARRESTED IN FATAL STABBING

Description of Incident:
A woman who fatally stabbed Robert Maxwell, 28, in January has been charged with manslaughter with a weapon by the Broward County’s Office of the State Attorney.
The Broward Sheriff’s Office was first alerted to the stabbing around 9:40 p.m. Jan. 27. When deputies arrived to 2864 N.E. 12th Ave. in Pompano Beach, they found an injured Maxwell. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported him to Broward Health North where he was pronounced dead. BSO’s crime scene and homicide detectives also responded to the scene.
According to witnesses, 20-year-old Ruby Clay and Maxwell were arguing over a phone when the dispute escalated into Clay stabbing Maxwell. Following the attack, she took the phone and walked away. Clay was found about an hour later by BSO’s K-9 team.
