PIO Number: 02-10-19 BSO Case Number: DR02-10-1300 (UPDATE)

Place of Occurrence: Bank United, 1333 South Military Trail, Deerfield Beach

Victim(s): Bank United, 1333 South Military Trail, Deerfield Beach

Suspect(s): Unknown male

Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office Robbery detectives are releasing excellent new photos of an unknown suspect who robbed a Deerfield Beach bank at gunpoint.

The robbery occurred shortly after 10 a.m. Monday (10/7/02) at the Bank United at 1333 South Military Trail. The robber entered the bank, which was void of any customers, carrying a semi-automatic handgun. The unidentified man jumped over the counter and helped himself to cash in the bank teller’s drawer. No shots were fired and the suspect escaped through a back door.

The suspect possibly fled in a dark green, newer model Ford Mustang with a beige convertible top. The culprit is described as a white male, about five feet eight inches tall, in his early to mid 30’s, and clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a light blue long-sleeve shirt with buttons down the front, possibly tan pants, a white ball cap, and sunglasses.

Detectives investigating the robbery discovered new photos of the suspect taken by surveillance cameras at another Deerfield Beach bank late last month. The suspect was probably “casing” that bank but did not commit a robbery there. Employees of the Bank United, however, say the photos clearly depict the man who robbed their branch.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to call BSO Robbery Det. John Donadio at (954) 658-3884 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS.
