Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are hoping surveillance video will help collar a man who robbed an auto parts store in Pompano Beach.

Just after 8 p.m. on February 5, BSO deputies responded to Advanced Auto Parts at 1100 E. Atlantic Blvd. after an armed robbery was reported. A black male about 6-foot-1 with a full beard wearing a black baseball cap, black shirt, blue jeans and a purple lanyard around his neck walked into the store and selected a chamois. He then went to the register. When the cashier rang the item up, the male suspect then threw a $20 bill on the counter. The item was over $20, so the suspect then went to grab another chamois which was less money.

When the suspect approached the register for the second time, he pulled a black handgun from his waist and pointed it at the clerk. The suspect tossed the cashier a plastic bag and ordered the cashier to put the money in the bag. Afraid for his life, the cashier complied with the suspect’s demands.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has information about this case should contact BSO Det. Steven Hoover at 954-321-4270 or contact Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online, at Tips to Crime Stoppers that leads to an arrest can net a cash reward of up to $1,000 for the anonymous tipster.
