SUSPECT SOUGHT IN ARMED BANK ROBBERIES

Description of Incident:
Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives are releasing excellent surveillance video in the hopes of identifying a suspect who robbed at least two banks in Tamarac.
The first armed robbery occurred at the Bank of America located at 5900 Rock Island Road on August 31st. Shortly after 9 a.m. the unidentified armed black male robber approached a teller and pointed a small silver automatic handgun at her while demanding cash.
The second robbery, occurred on September 11th at the Bank of America located at 8200 North University Drive. The suspect displayed only the handle of a gun in this robbery.
The armed suspect, who wears a hat and dark shades, also claimed to have a bomb and threatened to blow up the banks if his demands were not met. He is described as a black male, about five feet eight inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds with a thin mustache and short hair. The suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash in both robberies and was observed walking with a bicycle eastbound on Bailey Road in the first robbery.
