It doesn’t take a TV weathercaster to forecast kids will be playing in snow this Saturday at the seventh annual Depend On Us Foundation’s Holiday Party.

The event is open to the public and will benefit Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. In addition to the snow pile, there will be photos with Santa, a bounce house, fire truck and SWAT vehicle displays, a petting zoo, firehouse tours, snacks, surprises and much more.

The Depend On Us Foundation was the brainchild of Deerfield Beach businessman Jerry Wilcox, who says he was blessed with four healthy children and wanted to give back to the community, especially sick children. He contacted then Deerfield Beach Fire Chief Tony Stravino (who now happens to be the fire chief at BSO) who embraced the idea and launched the holiday party at the fire station which has become a yearly tradition.
