Help Deputy Rivera
On September 11, 2013, Broward Sheriff’s Office Deputy Daniel Rivera, 32, was critically injured in the line of duty after his patrol car veered off Interstate 95, crashing into a tree. Pompano Beach Fire Rescue transported him to Broward Health North Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Following extensive surgery, Deputy Rivera remains in critical condition. His family has flown in from out of state to be by his side. Family members and colleagues continue their vigils and prayers in hopes that his condition strengthens each day.
Deputy Rivera began his career with the Broward Sheriff’s Office in 2003 as a deputy sheriff in the Department of Detention. In 2012, he transferred to the Department of Law Enforcement and was assigned to the Pompano Beach district.
To assist the family with immediate expenses, the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County has created the Deputy Daniel Rivera Fund. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit organization. All donations are 100 percent tax deductible.
