Description of Incident:
The Broward Sheriff's Office is holding a public viewing of stolen property recovered during a raid on the home of the brothers Brown. Arrested in the raid was 46-year old Timothy Brown and his 51-year old sibling, Louis Brown.
On April 11, 2002, deputies searched the home at 1131 NW 29th Way in Ft. Lauderdale. Inside, they found a large cache of stolen property including lawn equipment, power tools, electronics, jewelry, CD’s and DVD’s. Deputies also recovered a substantial amount of crack cocaine and several firearms.
Hoping to match-up the stolen items with the rightful owners, the Broward Sheriff's Office will hold public viewings on two consecutive days. On Thursday, April 25, 2002, the property will be available for viewing from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. On Friday, April 26, 2002, viewing will be from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
To view the property, the public should sign-in at the BSO District-5 headquarters either of the two viewing days. The district headquarters is at 200 NW 27th Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale. To claim an item, the rightful owner will need to provide a police case number or report coinciding with the report of the stolen or lost item. Barring a case number or report, a valid receipt for the item must be provided.
