Inmate art sale to raise funds for animal rescue shelter.
One of South Florida’s most unique art exhibitions, produced behind bars, will help abandoned pets find a new home.,BSO’s 4th annual Inmate Art Exhibit and Sale, featuring artwork produced by inmates incarcerated in the Broward Sheriff’s Office jail system, runs through December 7th at the Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts, 7080 NW 4th St., in Plantation.,Proceeds from the sale of the inmate art benefit Abandoned Pet Rescue, Inc., a not-for-profit, no-kill animal shelter in Fort Lauderdale and the Schacknow Museum of Fine Arts Artist Training Program.,The exhibit's grand opening is Saturday, October 12 beginning at 6:00 p.m. Admission to the opening festivities is $10 and refreshments and entertainment will be provided.,The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Admission to the museum is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 6-12. Children under 6 are admitted free. There is no admission charge on Fridays.,
