Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are piecing together the details of an early morning shooting that left one man dead in an unincorporated neighborhood of the county.

Just before 2 a.m. Aug. 10, BSO deputies were dispatched to the area of Northwest Sixth Street and 27th Avenue in unincorporated Broward following reports of shots fired. Detectives say Rodney Chisholm, 47, was in front of the home at 609 N.W. 27th Avenue when a vehicle pulled up. A man exited the vehicle, walked up to Chisholm and shot at him multiple times before fleeing the scene. Chisholm was struck by at least one bullet and was transported by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue to Broward Health Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
