BSO Mourns the Loss of Deputy Christopher Schaub

Line of Duty Death

The Broward Sheriff's Office mourns the loss of Deputy Christopher Schaub from the Pompano Beach District. He was hit by a motorist while on motorcycle patrol on Wednesday, September 26. Chris was a 22-year veteran of the agency. His son, Tim, followed in his father’s footsteps and proudly serves the Broward Sheriff's Office as a deputy sheriff. Chris is survived by his son, Tim, and daughter, Kaitlyn. 

Chris began his law enforcement career in the State of New Jersey with the Livingston Police Department before moving to South Florida and joining BSO in 1990. During his career, Chris worked road patrol, in the detective bureau and most recently in Pompano Beach as a motorman with the traffic unit. During his career, Chris received numerous commendations from citizens and supervisors. He received employee of the month honors several times and it is noted that his greatest quality was his persistence and dedication to duty.
