BSO INVESTIGATES SUSPICIOUS FIRE DEATH

Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff Office homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man found inside a burning building in the Broadview Park neighborhood near Fort Lauderdale early Saturday morning.

At 8:06 a.m. on August 2, Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of a fire in a duplex at 4101 S.W. 18 Ct. in Central Unincorporated Broward. Once on scene, BSFR firefighters found an unconscious man in one of the home's bedrooms. Firefighters rescued the man from the building and began aggressive resuscitation efforts. The victim was transported to Broward Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. No one else was injured in the fire. 

BSO's Homicide unit is investigating the suspicious death and working to identify the victim's identity. Broward Sheriff Fire Marshal's Bureau and the Division of State Fire Marshal are investigating the cause of the fire.
