Southwest Ranches Incorporated in June of 2000. The Town of Southwest Ranches is located in Southwest Broward County, is approximately 13 square miles and is home to over 7,000 residents.

BSO has provided law enforcement services for the Town of Southwest Ranches since the Town's inception.

The annual budget for Southwest Ranches is approximately $1.7 million and provides for 15 positions including a district commander, two sergeants and 12 deputies.

Commander Wallace Haywood started his law enforcement career in 1985. From 1985 until 1999, he worked as a road patrol deputy, K-9 handler and DUI Task Force and Training Deputy. He was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 1999, where he worked in the Pompano Beach district.
