Central Broward comprises the unincorporated areas of central Broward County and is bordered by I-95 on the east, the Florida Turnpike and State Road 7 on the west, NW 19 Street on the north and the New River on the south.
The annual population of this unincorporated area is approximately 24,000, but the daytime population increases significantly due to the four major thoroughfares, several magnet schools and a variety of businesses.
Residential neighborhoods located within the district include Broadview Park, Broward Estates, Boulevard Gardens, Franklin Park, Washington Park, Roosevelt Gardens, Madison Apartments and Myers Estates.
The district has an annual operating budget of approximately $4.7 million and provides for 52 positions.

Chief Andrew S. Dunbar was named chief of BSO’s Lauderdale Lakes district in July 2011. He previously served as the executive officer in Central Broward District, Pompano Beach District Area One, and as a patrol commander in the Dania Beach District.
