With nearly 800 flights each day, Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International Airport hosts approximately 24 million passengers each year. The Airport has become an economic engine for Broward County with more than a $2.3 billion annual economic contribution and is Broward County's largest employer.
BSO works with the Broward County Aviation Department, the Transportation Security Administration, the Airline Managers Association, airport tenants and ancillary federal agencies to provide law enforcement and fire rescue protection for the 18,000 acre airport site and its 11,000 employees.
BSO provides law enforcement services for the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and handles security measures related to parking and general airport security.
The district has an annual operating budget of approximately $14 million and provides for 147 positions including a district chief, two lieutenants, ten sergeants, 82 deputies and other positions.

Chief Roy Liddicott joined the Broward Sheriff's Office in 2001 with the merger of BSO and the North Lauderdale Police Department where he served for 27 years.
A Broward County native, Chief Liddicott hails from a law enforcement family: a brother-in-law and a son-in-law are currently serving with BSO and another brother-in-law retired from the agency....
