CONCEITED CROOK CATCHES HIMSELF ON CELL CAM

Description of Incident:
Scano Sinclair knew where he could find a vulnerable victim with lots of cash. He knew that he could sneak into her bedroom, point a gun at her face and steal her money. What apparently didn’t occur to the 28-year-old Miramar man was that it might not be smart to take pictures of oneself with your cell phone camera and then leave it behind at a crime scene.
On Oct. 20, a 25-year-old Tamarac woman was sleeping in her bedroom when she was awakened by two men standing over her with guns pointing in her face. They demanded cash, which she gave them. They apparently entered the house through an unlocked front door.
Surveillance video in Lindsey’s gated neighborhood captured the robbers in a silver, four-door Mercedes sedan, which they tracked to a home in Miramar.
Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives say that Sinclair had recently attempted to rob the victim’s boyfriend at his Palm Beach County home but was unsuccessful. The robber lost his cell phone as he ran away. Lindsey recognized Sinclair as her assailant from the multiple photos in the phone.
Detectives have obtained a warrant for Sinclair’s arrest for armed robbery and are looking to arrest him.
