Description of Incident:

A cashier left work Friday night and was forced at gunpoint to return and open the company safe. Now, Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives are releasing surveillance video in the hopes of identifying the culprits who ripped off the check cashing store.

On October 9, after closing Family Financial Center, located at 1655 South State Road 7 in North Lauderdale, Yarah Carino, was heading home when a black Ford Crown Victoria with dark tinted windows cut in front of her vehicle at the intersection of southwest 63 Avenue and Kimberly Boulevard causing her to stop. Two armed males emerged from the passenger seats of the Crown Victoria and approached Carino’s vehicle. One of the suspects pulled her from the driver’s seat and forced her to the backseat of her own car, while the other suspect drove the victim’s car back to Family Financial. A third unknown suspect followed in the Crown Victoria.

At approximately 8 p.m., after arriving at the business, the suspects forced Carino to a rear office where the safe was located and demanded she place the cash into a pink and purple child’s backpack.

The victim was ordered to stay in the backroom while the suspects made their escape with an undisclosed amount of cash and checks.

Anyone with information on the case and/or the identity of the suspects is asked to call BSO Robbery Det. Brian Walker at (954) 321-4270 or call Broward Crime Stoppers anonymously at (954) 493-TIPS or online at www.browardcrimestoppers.org.
