Description of Incident:
A Davie woman counting the profits of her counterfeit watch business was arrested by Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives in an undercover operation that yielded almost two thousand phony watches.
For about two weeks, BSO detectives made several purchases of fake Rolex watches from 35-year-old Mantin NG. The last of such purchases took place, October 25th, at Best Florida Storage located at 3901 W. Sunrise Blvd. in Lauderhill. Once the money was exchanged for the merchandise, BSO detectives arrested NG while still inside her storage unit.
NG cooperated with detectives and gave them consent to search the warehouse where she was arrested and an additional unit she had within the same storage complex. Searches of both warehouses yielded almost two thousand counterfeit watches of brand names such as Rolex, Gucci, Chanel, and Cartier, with a total estimated retail value of 8.5 million dollars.
NG faces one count of Vending Goods or Services with Counterfeit Trademarks which is punishable up to 5 years in jail. Her arrest is part of an ongoing investigation that BSO detectives anticipate will result in other arrests.
