SHERIFF KEN JENNE RELEASES ANNA NICOLE SMITH ESCORT DETAILS

Updated: 03/01/2007 01:34:00 PM
PIO Number: 07-3-3

In response to the concerns of residents around the Office of the Broward County Medical Examiner, Broward Sheriff Ken Jenne released preliminary details concerning the movement of the remains of Anna Nicole Smith.

In an effort to alleviate the 24/7 media presence in the neighborhood, Sheriff Jenne released the following details:

Anna Nicole Smith’s body will leave the ME’s Office between 5:00 am and 6:00 am Friday, March 2 2007. Escorted by BSO motor units, it will be driven to the Broward – Miami-Dade County line where the escort will be turned over to Miami-Dade County authorities.

“The residents around the ME’s office have had to tolerate the constant noise of news helicopters and unending crowding of their roads by the media for several weeks now,” said Sheriff Jenne. “Hopefully, now that the media knows the schedule, they will be able to scale back the interruptions and 24 hour flyovers above the neighborhood.”

Sheriff Jenne also announced there will be zero tolerance for any individual violating traffic laws in an attempt to follow or photograph the escort or for any individual interfering with the progress of the vehicles.
