Description of Incident:
A 28-year old Davie man is in the Broward Sheriff's Office Main Jail without bond on
two-dozen child sex charges.
Federal investigators began looking at Adam Knoll earlier this year after developing information that he had child pornography on his home computer. Working with the Broward Sheriff's Office and the LEACH (Law Enforcement Against Child Harm) Task Force , detectives secured enough evidence for a search warrant. Investigators soon learned also that Knoll had likely sexually assaulted children.
On September 14th, detectives served a search warrant on Knoll’s home and brought him in for questioning. On Knoll’s computer, investigators found more than a dozen child porn images. But investigators also found evidence that Knoll had sexually exploited two 8-year old boys. When they interviewed Knoll, he admitted that he had had numerous sexual encounters with the two boys over a nearly two-year period. Interviews with the boys upheld Knoll’s confession.
Knoll has lived in South Florida since he was a small child and detectives are concerned that he’s left more victims in his wake. They are asking anyone with information about Knoll or who believes that their children may have been victimized by Knoll to contact the Broward Sheriff's Office Sex Crimes investigators at (954) 321-4240.
Knoll is currently charged with 14 counts of possession of child pornography, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 5-years in prison for each count. He is also charged with two counts of child molestation, a first-degree felony punishable by up to 30-years in prison for each count. Each of the eight counts of sexual battery against a child is a capitol felony, punishable by death.
Additional charges against Knoll are pending.
