Lieutenant Dan Jackowski

Lieutenant Dan Jackowski began his law enforcement career in 1985 with the Deerfield Beach Police Department. After merging with BSO in 1990, he worked as a road patrol deputy for nine years. Lieutenant Jackowski then joined the Training Division, where he coordinated the Field Training Program until his promotion to sergeant in 2001. He served as the supervisor of the Youth and Neighborhood Services Unit until his promotion to lieutenant of the Youth Intervention and Enforcement Division in July 2011. Lieutenant Jackowski spent 12 years on the BSO SWAT team and achieved the rank of Team Leader. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards and commendations including the prestigious Gold Cross Award. Lieutenant Jackowski has an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He is also a graduate of the University of Louisville’s Southern Police Institute Command Officer Development Course.
