Captain Brian Faer

North Lauderdale

Captain Brian Faer began his law enforcement career in 1989 with the North Lauderdale Public Safety Department. During that time he worked road patrol, training, and recruiting. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997 and supervised various shifts until 2001 when the North Lauderdale Public Safety Department merged with the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He remained in the City of North Lauderdale where he was the Field Training Coordinator for the district and was also the Crisis Intervention Coordinator for the agency. Captain Faer supervised the Neighborhood Response Team, Motor Unit and the Burglary Apprehension Team in North Lauderdale. In March 2013, Captain Faer was promoted and transferred to the City of Oakland Park where he was the Operations Commander. He has served as the Executive Officer in The City of Parkland, and is currently the Captain in The City of North Lauderdale. Captain Faer attended Trenton State College in New Jersey where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice. He also attended Nova Southeastern University where he earned a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Captain Faer is also a graduate of the Southern Police Institutes Command Officer Development Course as well as Nova Southeastern University’s Executive Leadership course.
