Major Angela Neely

Major Angela D. Neely joined the Broward Sheriff's Office on March 5, 1990 as a detention deputy. She was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997 where she supervised at the Main Jail Bureau and North Broward (mental health units and female housing) and the Central Intake Bureau (booking, Juvenile Assessment Center (JAC) and transportation). In 2002, she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. As a lieutenant she served as an Inspector for the Staff Services and Accreditations Unit, and shift lieutenant in the Central Intake Bureau and the Paul Rein Facility. In addition, she served as the Executive Officer of the Paul Rein and Joseph V. Conte Facilities. Major Neely was promoted in July 2015 and was selected to take command of the Joseph V. Conte Facility; A 1328 bed facility of male-medium custody inmates. In 2017, she was promoted to her current rank, overseeing Classification, Investigations and Project, Support Services and the Biometric Identification Unit. Major Neely holds a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a specialization in Psychology from Barry University in Miami, Florida. She is a graduate of the 2011 Executive Leadership Program; the 2014 National Jail Leadership Command Academy at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas; the 2014 Southern Police Institute Command Officers Development Course of Louisville, Kentucky and she is a Certified Florida Model Jail Inspector.
