VICTIM HEARD BANGING AT HIS DOOR, IT WASN'T OPPORTUNITY KNOCKING

Broward Sheriff's Office detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the man captured by security cameras attempting to break into a Dania Beach business.

At 7:40 p.m. Oct. 8, the owner of Valy Marine, located at 5937 Anglers Ave., heard a loud banging noise coming from the front door. When he approached, he realized that someone was attempting to force the door open. He went outside and saw a man getting into a Ford Explorer SUV. The thief was able to damage the door but was not able to get inside.

Two security cameras captured the Explorer as it pulled up in front of the business from the north side. An unidentified male exited the passenger-side of the SUV and pushed both security cameras upward.

The subject is described as a male in his mid-30s with a medium to heavy build and some facial stubble. He wore glasses, a light-colored beanie cap, a white long-sleeve shirt and pants. The driver of the vehicle was not captured by the cameras.

Detectives believe the subject had previously visited other businesses in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Det. German Bickbau at 954-926-2400 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or browardcrimestoppers.org.
