Description of Incident:
Tuesday evening, members of the Broward Sheriff's Office Fugitive Task Force arrested Terrance Walker for the carjacking and murder committed Saturday in Deerfield Beach.
At 7:49 a.m. Saturday morning, a resident of Deerfield Beach woke to an unusual sight; a car with its wheels still spinning was wedged into some shrubbery near 194 S.E. Second Street. When Broward Sheriff's deputies arrived, they discovered the body of 33-year-old Domique Daniels inside the car.
The previous evening, Daniels was in the front passenger seat of a friend's Infinity as they rode around Deerfield Beach. Close to midnight, they decided to stop and picked up Walker. During the ride, Walker produced a gun and demanded he be taken to his ex-girlfriend's home. When the driver tried to calm him down, the ride quickly turned into a carjacking.
At approximately 12:20 a.m., as the car neared the Mobil Gas Station at 900 S.W. 10th Street, Walker fatally shot Daniels in the back of the head while the car was still moving. As the shots were fired, the driver jumped from the moving car and sustained minor injuries. His identity is being withheld for his safety.
Walker has 10 prior arrests in Broward County since 2011. He is now facing a charge of first-degree murder and armed carjacking.
