Broward Sheriff's Office Robbery Unit detectives, in collaboration with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), are asking for the public's help in identifying the robber who detectives believe is responsible for at least six armed robberies in Dania Beach, Hallandale Beach, Davie and Fort Lauderdale over the last two months.
Just after 8 p.m. Dec. 13, an unidentified male entered the BP Gas Station at 701 S. Federal Hwy. in Dania Beach. At first the man pretended to shop, browsing up and down an aisle. He walked over to the counter and asked the clerk for some bottled water but then quickly produced a gun. He demanded all the money in the register. The clerk complied. The robber then told the clerk to get on the ground as he made his escape. Once outside, the brazen thief casually waved goodbye to his victim.
The robber is described as a male in his 20s, approximately 6 foot tall with a dark complexion and a slender build. He wore black athletic shoes, gray and black sweat pants and a black Nike hoodie with the word "NIKE" written in gray on the front.
Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Det. Theophilus Woulard at 954-321-4553 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000. Additionally, ATF is offering a reward for $10,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
