Description of Incident:

Before dawn, a 28-year-old man inexplicably drove into a semi trailer that was just ahead of him. Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit is conducting an investigation into the fatal crash.

Just after 4 a.m. Sept. 25, James Vieira was driving a Nissan Rogue SUV west on West Atlantic Boulevard in the center lane. Driving just ahead of the Coral Springs man in the same lane was an International Eagle semi trailer. For unknown reasons, Vieira crashed into the back of the semi just west of the intersection in the 1200 block.
