DETECTIVES SEARCH FOR TRICKY THIEF WHO USED CLONED CARD

On Sept. 12, security cameras at a Publix at 8140 W. McNab Road in North Lauderdale captured a thief as he used a fraudulent credit card for two transactions totaling $901. The trick lies in the knowledge that the stolen card never left the victim's possession.

The subject is described as a male, approximately five foot nine inches tall, with a dark complexion, a heavy build, dark hair and a dark full beard. He wore a black T-shirt, black shorts and a black hat with a white logo on the front.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Det. Tenika Hylton at 954-722-5800 or Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or browardcrimestoppers.org. Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.

MEDIA NOTE: The surveillance video is on our website, sheriff.org.
