Description of Incident:

Darren Butler, 27, has been identified as the man found dead in a burning car at a North Lauderdale park.

Around 5 a.m. Nov. 14, Broward Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a car on fire at a North Lauderdale park. When the flames were extinguished by North Lauderdale Fire Rescue, Butler's body was discovered in the car. The victim's name was temporarily withheld until he could be positively identified.

A homicide investigation is underway as detectives work to determine the circumstances that led Butler and the car to be located at Bicentennial Park, 6100 Kimberly Blvd.
