In honor to those who died in service, BSO's Aviation Unit will fly over the ceremony, a bugler will play taps and there will be a 21-Gun Salute.

During the service, all the heroes will be acknowledged during a roll call and video presentation. Here is a look at some of the BSO personnel who'll be remembered:

Detention Deputy Michael D. Ryan exhibited great strength and commitment to the agency. Deputy Ryan, who joined BSO in 2004, was described by his colleagues as a "gentle giant." On Dec. 15, 2017, Deputy Ryan was working at the Broward Sheriff's Office Main Jail when he collapsed in the parking lot. He passed away on New Year's Eve. Deputy Ryan was 58 years old.

Sergeant Chris Reyka was highly praised by his superiors and peers for his steadfast dedication, keen eye and reliability. In the early morning hours of Aug. 10, 2007, he was gunned down while checking on a suspicious vehicle outside a Pompano Beach Walgreens. Sergeant Reyka was 51 years old.

Driver/Engineer Michael Douthitt was often commended for his service to the residents and visitors of Broward County. He began his career in 1984 as a paramedic.  On July 2, 2007, he responded to a structure fire in Pembroke Park. Once back at the station, Driver/Engineer Douthitt felt ill, went home and was subsequently hospitalized for a cardiac problem. On July 13, while at home, he went into cardiac arrest. Driver/Engineer Douthitt was 48 years old.
