YOUNG GIRL ACCIDENTALLY DROWNS WHILE SWIMMING WITH HER FAMILY

Victim: Isabel Saintil, 6, female, 11/18/11, 978 S.W. 10th Drive, Pompano Beach (DECEASED)

Description of Incident:

On the afternoon of June 1, Isabel Saintil, 6, had gone swimming with her adult sister, Sarah Sinile, 23, and her two infant children at their apartment community pool located at 978 S.W. 10th Drive, Pompano Beach. The family had been swimming for approximately 15 minutes when Sinile discovered her little sister floating face down.

The victim was unresponsive when Sinile pulled her from the pool. Sinile and a neighbor performed CPR until Pompano Beach Fire Rescue arrived at the scene.

Saintil was transported to Holy Cross Hospital where she remained unresponsive and in critical condition. She was subsequently transported to Broward Health Medical Center where she was placed on life support. Doctors took Saintil off of life support on June 7.
