Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a two-car crash that left a teenager dead Sunday night.

BSO deputies were dispatched around 10:40 p.m. Feb. 3 to the intersection of North State Road 7 and Northwest 36th Street in Lauderdale Lakes.

Based on the evidence and statements obtained from witnesses, two vehicles were turning west onto Northwest 36th Street from the northbound lanes of State Road 7 on a green light. At the same time a southbound 1998 Honda Civic, driven by 19-year-old J Rony-Ray Georges, entered the intersection and struck the front passenger side of one of the vehicles.  After the initial impact, Georges’ Honda Civic continued on a southbound trajectory, crashing into a concrete memorial.
