Description of Incident:

Broward Sheriff's Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating the death of a pedestrian Wednesday night in Deerfield Beach.

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Dec. 13. A gray Toyota Corolla was heading northbound in the 4300 block of Powerline Road when it struck the pedestrian on the inside lane. The man was identified as 70-year-old Sergey Nazarov.

BSO Fire Rescue transported him to Broward Health North where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Corolla, Shelbine Fille Georges, was also transported to Broward Health North for evaluation only.

The investigation is ongoing.
