A Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide investigation is underway following the Thursday death of a Lauderdale Lakes woman.
Around 12:20 a.m. on Nov. 8, Amesle Cetoute was crossing North State Road 7 near the 4700 block in Lauderdale Lakes when an SUV heading north on the same road struck her. The driver of the 2016 Nissan Rogue immediately stopped and remained at the scene.
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded and transported Cetoute to Broward Health Medical Center where she later died.
BSO’s Traffic Homicide Investigation Unit detectives say that Cetoute was crossing outside the designated pedestrian area when the collision happened. Excessive speed, impairment and mechanical malfunction are not considered contributing factors in this crash. The investigation continues.
