Description of Incident:

Traffic homicide detectives are investigating the death of a woman after a crash which occurred just before midnight on April 22 in Pompano Beach.

Jordana A. Escarzaga was in the roadway south of the intersection of Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 8th Street when Jarvis A. Graham's 2015 Mercedes SUV stuck her.

The driver stated that he never saw Escarzaga prior to impact, and that he believed she jumped in front of his vehicle.

Escarzaga was dressed in all black with black sandals. The street lights in the area of impact were not operational.

Graham called for help and remained on scene. He is cooperating with the investigation.
