BSO WANTS TO HEAR FROM YOU
Sheriff Scott Israel is announcing a visit by a team of assessors from the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. (CFA). The group will arrive December 11-13 to examine all aspects of the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.
The assessors will evaluate that BSO is meeting the approximately 250 life, health and safety standards set by the Commission as part of a voluntary process to receive this accreditation – a highly-prized recognition of law enforcement excellence.
The assessment team is made up of law enforcement practitioners from similar agencies. They will be reviewing written material, interviewing individuals and visiting offices and other areas where compliance can be witnessed.
As part of the assessment, agency members and the community are invited to offer comments on BSO’s services and performance to the assessors. Anyone who wants to participate may do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by mailing his/her comments to: CFA, P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, FL 32302.
A full copy of the standards can be viewed on the CFA website, www.flaccreditation.org or by contacting BSO’s Accreditation Manager, Captain James Diefenbacher, at 954-831-8930.
