Colonel John “Jack” D. Dale currently serves as the executive director for the Department of Professional Standards and the Department of Investigations. His command encompasses the areas of Internal Affairs, Public Corruption, Human Resources, Training and Development, Policy and Accountability, Criminal Investigations, Strategic Investigations, Child Protective Investigative Services, Crime Laboratory and Internal Audit. He also represents the Broward Sheriff’s Office as part of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Criminal Justice Training Center Directors Association and serves on the International Association of Chiefs of Police Human and Civil Rights Committee.
Colonel Dale’s law enforcement career began in 1989 with the New Jersey Department of Corrections. Prior to his employment with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, he was a 22-year veteran of the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.
Jack has a bachelor's degree in Public Management from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Science in Leadership from Nova Southeastern University’s H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship. He is a graduate of the 255th session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Academy, the 40th session of the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Executive Institute, the 35th session of the Police Executive Research Forum's Senior Management Institute for Police.
